(d) Ensure you ALWAYS check the time-lapse and time remaining to be able to complete the exam questions on time, be aware of the remaining time, this will surely help you answer questions faster, and if you feel the time has gone, fret not, and simply try your best to increase your response time on questions.
(d) Instruction area: This is the Instruction page, here, candidates can go and check the instructions about the exams.

Basic Uses of the Mouse When Writing

Now we will discuss an essential component of the CBT, the use of the mouse

1: Ensure you put the heel of your hand on the table in front of the mouse. Then Hold the mouse between the thumb and the ring fingers, this is the best and most comfortable way of holding a mouse.

2: Also, ensure you put your index finger on the left mouse button.

3: When you want to answer a question, the arrow automatically becomes a pointing finger, simply hold the mouse still and then lightly click the left mouse button with your index finger or any finger that makes it easier for you!

We are not setting instructions here, our goal is to get you familiar with the use of the mouse which will help you rightfully answer all questions fast.

Radio Buttons – What Are Radio Buttons?

Most computer-based tests use radio buttons, and this is what was implemented in JAMB CBT questions. The below buttons will be used as illustrated in the exams panel above, to select the correct answer.

 Button 1     Button 2     Button 3

Click on any of the 3 circles/buttons above to test their functionality. You will see that the selected option’s radio is covered with a dark circle. That shows your selection which represents your choice of answer.

How Do You Choose the Correct Answers?

Mosttimes, the questions which come out in the computer-based test are in the multi-choice format. Which is also known as the ‘multiChoice Question’.

During the exam, something related to this may be asked

Example:  Solve for y.

if y – 2 + 3y = 10

  1. 6
    B. 5
    C. 4
    D. 3
    E. 2

You select one of the best answers by clicking on the radio button with a mouse or Use the Tab Key (which is in most computers, the first button in the third line) to move through the options and then pressing the space-bar to select an option.

Note that you can only select a single radio button at a time and then simply click on the NEXT button to move to the next question. Also, you can choose to skip a particular question by omitting it and coming back to it when you are ready. This is a strategy to keep your pace with time. Ensure you don’t forget the questions you skipped although it will be visible to you that some questions have not been answered.

Follow this step and move from question to the other till you end your examination.

I hope that this tutorial of more than a thousand words has not bored you and has helped you understand the basics of writing the JAMB CBT examination.
